Hello ASV,
GUJCET or Gujarat Common Entrance Test is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) for admission among 112 participating public and private institutes/colleges/universities in Gujarat under Government quota seats and Management quota.
(The exam was scrapped a few years back until it made a comeback in 2017. Also, due to elections, the EE has been postponed to 26th of April.)
The struggle to get admission on the basis of entrance exam is huge because the competition and performance pressure exceeds countable limits. Annually, the number of applicants appearing for GUJCET is around 2L. The admissions to the state-based colleges are generally subjected to domicile regulations giving preference to the state candidates which makes it even more competitive to get admission. To give any entrance exam, including GUJCET, the candidates are required to satisfy certain eligibility criteria. These conditions, once you clear them, makes you eligible to write the exam, which consequently makes you eligible to get admission in your desired college based on your scores/rank you made in the exam.
The following is the eligibility criteria for appearing in GUJCET:
Once the eligibility obstacle is crossed, your board marks wouldn't weigh all that much along the rest of your journey. Nowadays most engineering colleges (some colleges treat it as a formality, others very serious) admit students based on respective or national/state EEs which forces the students to input much struggle and dedication into the preparation, especially to get the desired college which is always a top college (and top colleges and massive prep for EE go hand-in-hand).
The following are some of the government colleges that accept GUJCET scores:
The following colleges are some of the good private colleges that accept the same scores:
Pay special attention to the highlighted colleges. Yup, those are the colleges you can consider to get admission provided you have required cutoff rank to be eligible to apply.
Try to get 5000 and below rank to ensure admission in any of the good colleges. The exam hasn't begun yet and you have a month before the test which leaves you plenty of time to cover the syllabus and get a good rank.
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any query in the comment.
