Please elaborate on B.Arch and Architecture Engineering

The career in Architecture is attractive, lucrative, and has lots of potential in terms of development. The architectural degree is designed in such a way so that it fulfills the educational component of professional certifying bodies.

This field covers different works such as spatial design, safety management, aesthetics, material management, etc. .

Average fees for this course in government colleges ranges from INR 1.5 to 2.5 Lacs and in private institutes, it ranges from approx. INR 2.5 to 5 Lacs. After the successful completion of this course, the students can pursue their career in architecture sector with the average salary range between INR 2.5 to 4.5 LPA.

The architectural study includes the activity of designing models of building, preparing construction’s blueprint and other physical structure of any land and building. The increasing demand for constructing shopping malls, flyovers in cities and other commercial complexes can be fulfilled by the role of an architect..

No candidate with less than 50% marks in aggregate shall be admitted to the architecture course unless he/she has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as subjects of examination at the 10+2 level or 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks or International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.

  • Pass in NATA exam i.e 80 marks out of 200.
  • 50 % marks in 10+2 with mathematics as compulsory subject.

2. JEE MAINS PAPER - 2 Architecture exam - lets you get admission in IITs, National Institutes of Technology and other Government colleges.

Architecture primarily teaches you the art of designing houses, skyscrapers, office spaces, shopping centres, malls and hotels. It is one of the unique courses as it has a combination of culture, design, and science and technology. Architecture programmes are creative in nature and it blends technology with arts. The course not only imparts knowledge about designing structures but also teaches you the concept of planning.
The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) is a bachelor's degree designed to satisfy the academic requirement of practicing architecture. The higher studies in this field includes M.Arch. This is the post graduate degree and icreases the chances of employement and salary.

Talking abou the eligibility

  • For UG: The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination from CBSE or any other equivalent examination board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects. The candidates should also fulfil minimum qualifying marks in aggregate of the subjects.
  • For PG: The candidate should have a B.Arch degree with a minimum passing percentage in aggregate of the subjects studied at the degree level.

The admission procedure:
The aspirant will have to appear in JEE Mains (paper2). Almost all architecture colleges accept this exam. Also you can go for NATA, this is also accepted across the country.

SCOPE:

  • With the development in infrastructure sectors, the world will need architects for planning and designing the blueprint of the building or the projects.
  • No major infrastructural project can be passed without any prior architectural design.
  • Globalisation and Privatisation have led to the planning of more infrastructural projects which in turn will need more domain experts.

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) is a 5 year full-time duration programme. It is comprised of 10 semesters. It focuses on the subjects from the fields of engineering, arts and technology to the professional practice of architecture. B.Arch is a generous mix of both theory and studio exercises.

B Arch and B arch Engineering are both the same while The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) is an undergraduate academic degree designed to satisfy the academic component of professional accreditation bodies, to be followed by a period of practical training prior to professional examination and registration. It is awarded for a course of study that lasts up to five years. In some cases, a B.Arch can only be undertaken after having completed a three-year generalist architectural degree, in which case, it may be as short as two years. Many architecture schools using this bi-partite structure have re-badged their B.Arch programs as M.Arch degrees.


All schools/ colleges of Architecture in India, or any department of Architecture within a college, requires that its applicants take the NATA Test. NATA stands for National Aptitude Test in Architecture. It measures aptitude of appilcant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures aesthetic sensitivity, critical thinking, that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. Prospective applicants desirous of taking admission to First year of undergraduate course in Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture) in India take NATA. NATA scores are used by admissions authorities of different Government, Govt. Aided & unaided schools / colleges of Architecture, to provide common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants. All schools / colleges of Architecture, Government, Government aided, University Departments, private unaided, including colleges affiliated to self-financed Deemed Universities and Private Universities, or any department of Architecture within a college, requires that its applicants take the NATA.
