please explain how the weightage of ouat calculated with example
Hello Satyaranjan, hope you are doing well.
Your OUAT UG weightage marks calculation is done by the addition of 25% of class 10% + 25% of class 12( PCB or PCM) percentage+ 50% of the marks scored in OUAT CEE exam) which equals to 100.
50% of the marks scored in OUAT CEE exam means that you have to divide your marks scored in OUAT CEE by 4. Because the total marks of the entrance exam are 200 and by dividing it by 4 we will make it 50. And the weightage of the entrance exam will be then counted out of 50. The other 50 marks weightage comes from your 10th and 12th %age.
So, finally your weightage is calculated like this:-
(10th / 4 )+ (12th/4)+ (Entrance Mark/4) =Weightage
An example:-
Suppose your 10th percentage is 95%, In 12th class average mark in PCM is 88%, PCB is 90%, and entrance mark is 100 out of 200.
Then your weightage will be=
(95/4)+(90/4)+(100/4)= 71.25.
Hence, 71.25 is your OUAT weightage. Your merit list is prepared on the basis of this weightage.
Here, 90% from PCB is taken into the calculation because PCB avg. is more than PCM avg. here.
Hope you are clear now.
