please explain the process of becoming hotel management college teacher.. i know the name of exam .But the process is not well understood

Dear Aspirant,

The name of the examination is National Hospitality Teacher’s Eligibility Test (NHTET).

  • The examination is to select Assistant Lecturers and Associate Teachers.

  • Full time Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management after 10+2 from a recognized University/ Institute with at least 55% marks with at least 2 years Hospitality Industry Experience after obtaining Degree (6 months IT is part of Courses, not to be considered as experience for this purpose).

OR

Full time Master’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management with at least 55% marks from a recognized University/ Institute after full time Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration/ Hotel Management from a recognized University/ Institute with at least 55% marks.

  • Age should not be more than 35 years.

  • The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held once in a calendar year.

  • Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate.

  • Paper-II shall consist of 50 multiple choice questions of Nutrition, Food science, General Management, hotel accounts

  • Paper-III shall consist of 100 multiple choice questions from the four core areas of hospitality i.e. Food Production, F & B Service and Management, Accommodation Operation Management and HouseKeeping Management

  • After the NHTET exam is over, the answer key will be uploaded in www.thims.gov.in (http://www.thims.gov.in/) when the candidate can go through it and challenge the answer with documentary proof within 4 days’ time by mail to diraf-nchm@nic.in (mailto:diraf-nchm@nic.in) only

  • Step I: Minimum marks to be obtained in NHTET for considering a candidate eligibility for Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Associates in NCHM and its any affiliated IHM:

  • Candidate should go through the details of the Brochure and see the requirement to fill the application form on-line in the portal www.thims.gov.in (http://www.thims.gov.in) .

  • Please read carefully the steps mentioned in http://nchm.nic.in/nhtet and follow them to understand, what needs to done and when. This is very important!

Hello Diksha,

If you want to do teaching jobs for hotel management Institutes then you have to apply for the online test which is NHTET exam i.e National Hospitality Teacher Eligibility test. After clearing thsi test you will be eligible for direct recruitment for the post of teaching in IHMs and FCIs.
Qualifications needed:-
1. Bachelor in hospitality Administration/ hotel management after 10+2 from a recognize Institute with 60% marks in graduation.
2. You should have minimum of two years experience in hotel industry or masters in hotel management.
