Hello

Firstly don't be depressed as that is what will retrieve you out of the preparation.

Actually preparation for IIT-JEE is just the detailing of all the CBSE topics that you cover and some more extra concepts. So you should know why are we using a particular method to solve the question along with the logic of the concept, where can its application be asked, etc. It's only your intrests that will drive you to prepare for this magnificent exam.

I would suggest you to follow some simple steps for the perfect preparation and they are

1 Revise all the tution/coaching centre content that is taught to you on that day only

2 Practise some questions related to that revision on that day

3 Practise the test papers regularly. If you get less marks or low rank, take it as a motivation to score a better one in the next test rather being depressed.

4 Revise all the definitions and answers for your school exams so that you don't feel that burden during your final exams and do attend them with full sincerity as they help you to prepare for CBSE board exams.

5 Don't overload yourself with turions and coaching centres. I would suggest you to prefer either of them as it is upon you where you understand the concept.

6 Don't feel the study as a burden. Take full interest in it.

Thanks

SK you will need to plan carefully for your whole year preparation. As your school session after summer vacations will be starting at the end of June month so currently you have plenty of time to catch up with the pace of JEE Advanced exam preparations. You already must have an idea that board exam syllabus is much easier than JEE Advanced syllabus and with a strong preparation for JEE Advanced exam can easily help you in getting good marks in board exams.

So, below I am mentioning the few points which helped me in getting admission in IIT Roorkee along with a very good percentage in 12th board examination:

  • From the month of April to the month of December focus mostly on your preparation of JEE Advanced examination. Only give time for school preparation a few days before tests, examination and practicals. As your school will get over in the month of December so you will get enough time to practice full long answers in the next 2-3 months

  • Now for JEE Advanced preparation (apart from coaching time; assuming you are also taking coaching) make sure you revise whatever that had been taught to you when you are travelling either to school or coaching from home and vice-versa

  • Plus make sure you complete the homework given by coachings every day and if they are no giving then you yourself need to solve some of the questions of the topic that has been taught to you that day after the coaching in the night. You need to devote atleast 3 hours (1 hour for each subject) every day because learning theory will never help you get good marks. Questions are always tricky and solving them helps you in building your concepts

  • If you are doing self-preparation then also you need to do the same thing, make a time-table prepare a topic of each subject every day via different books or videos and then practice questions on the basis of those topics

  • Along with this, you need to give lots of online mock test. If you are a part of any coaching then you can definitely get a chance to sit for tests regularly but if you are not attending coaching then also I still recommend you to either purchase a test series or solve online free test atleast twice a month. You can do it on alternate Sunday and can keep the other Sundays to revise whatever you have learnt through the whole week. This will keep you in touch with the previous topics of 12th and 11th class both

  • For catching up with the school you can do some of the assignments, practical copy things within school only during the free time and can give a rest to JEE Advanced preparation before 3-4 days of examinations. If you are doing a good preparation for JEE Advanced then you will not find it very difficult to score good marks in schools exams

  • After Your school gets over then you can split up your daytime in the ratio of 60-40 like from morning 9 o clock to-night 01 o clock if you are giving 12 hours to study properly then you can do JEE Advanced preparation for 7 hours and 5 hours for board examination

  • SK in the end what matters is your dedication towards the studies, determination to get good marks in both exams and the qualitative studies within the time assigned. If you keep your spirits high in these 3 aspects then no-one can stop you to get your dreams fulfilled

Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!!

To manage your time some tips:Wake up early morning by 6 and before going to school revise the topics which were taught yesterday in coaching or the topics you have read yesterday (if not going to coaching)Use the time travelling to school or coaching for reading some of the chapters which you need to memorize like the inorganic part of chemistry or formulas of Physics with conceptsThen use the time in the school like games period, free classes or language classes to complete he school work like practical copy completion, some project writing and all. This will save your time, you will not need to give time for school work at homeIf you are going to coaching then they will teach you 12th class subjects. You can come back and solve the questions for each topic to strengthen your topic and understand them in a good way and on the holidays when there is no coaching you can use your time to study 11th classIf you don't go to coaching then make a timetable for studying 11th and 12th topics simultaneously and give mock tests regularly once in 2 weeks

See honestly there is neither a fixed pattern to study for JEE nor for time management. It all varies from person to person because each one of us varies in capabilities. We can only guide you in a certain way rest you need to figure out yourself. And instead of panicking if you keep your confidence and the hunger to crack JEE exam then you will in no time be able to figure out your own strengths and gain the momentum to complete the whole syllabus.

But I love Physics.. The physics teacher was awesome... But now I am having good faculties of all the sub PCM... But somehow till now I am having some problem to understand only im chemistry.. As some parts are related to class 11th portion... But somehow I am trying... And also following a definite one day planning... But jis din uo routine acche se follow nhi kar pate us din bohot demotivated feel hota hai... Toh please... Ap yeh bataiye ki agar demotivated feel ho toh kaise fir motivate hoke apne kam mein lag jaye... Please tell... As you were also preparing someday for JEE...

First of all, I will say try to never get demotivated, never lose hope because everyone prepares very hard for JEE exam but the only one who never loses confidence on themselves are successful in cracking JEE exam. When a person gets demotivated there are different ways for different persons to become happy. When such thing used to happen I used to just start imagining the day when JEE result will come and I will crack it and get into IIT. I used to imagine how my parents and everyone will be happy. I used to feel that joy, it used to bring happiness to me, motivation in me to achieve that happiness. Then I used to pick up one of the topic in which I am very good and the solve it for some time, getting answers again used to make me happy and then later I would have again caught up with the thing where I was failing. This time I used to do it in a much better way.

I am sorry for replying you so late. I was busy in getting settled in a new city. You should give a test for 1-2 chapters or whatever syllabus you have covered in that week. This way you will be able to catch up with subjects properly. In short you need to keep giving test on the syllabus which you have completed till that date.

Okay.. Thank you.... But many of my elder brothers and friends are telling that I couldn't crack IIT JEE as I haven't read class 12 nicely.. mainly the Chemistry part.. So, I have to drop one year...
Is it true...?? Please tell brother..
If I score a good marks in Physics and Mathematics in JEE advanced and a avg marks in chemistry... Can I get selected in IIT...??
Reply
22nd Jun, 2018
See if you get an average score or even minimum score in Chemistry but a very high score in Physics and Maths then you can easily get into IIT. Because you get a rank with your total score in JEE Advanced. Taking a drop will definitely help you in later stage but don't think of it now. Work hard and try your best this year only. Even in the worst case if you are not able to clear this year then also in the drop year this year studies will help you in a great way.

Okay... But are you sure that in minimum score in a sub I can get into IIT..??
As some of the teachers are telling that IIT checks all the three scores then only they take admission... If all the three scores are on same level then only they will take admission....
Reply
22nd Jun, 2018
No it's a wrong information. You need to at least have a minimum score in all the 3 subjects which is very less around 15-20 marks but the rank is given on overall total score in JEE Advanced exam. And with rank only you get admission in any of the IIT.

Do you know.... Whenever I demotivate or I think I can't crack the exam or "IIT mein mera admission ish janam mein nahi hone wala" then I just read your old messages... It motivates me very much.... And again I start to my journey towards the destination... I think journey isn't imp., who ever starting their journey at 9th or 10th standerd or 11th... I can understand that the time is decreasing but not the distance.. So, I have to be faster or increase the velocity wrt them so that I can also reach the proper destination in the certain time..!!
Now I have a question.. I also want to score a good marks in Chemistry and I am ready to defeat any challenges.. So, how could I build up my interest towadrs this particular sub. because Physics and Mathematics is (no doubt) a interesting sub. but not Chemistry..??

I am from Bhopal and currently working in Pune.See if you never lose your hope, keep up your confidence and trust yourself then half of the journey to success is itself completed. Regarding Chemistry, I understand that there is a lot of things in inorganic and organic which you need to mug up and which some of us don't like to do. So, what I will say you can go through the different reactions how an element is reacting in the different circumstances, make notes and then finally prepare some random way or theorem by yourself to learn it. If you do it properly your theorems will help you to reach to a correct answer 90% of the times and believe me you will be able to remember each of the ways to figure out an answer in a much better way because you are the one who had figured out the way. The same thing can be done in inorganic and organic. This will also make it interesting for you to study chemistry. Even you can do the same thing in some of the chapters in Physical chemistry like Solid state but moreover it will be numerical and I will recommend you to practice in a very good way because this year there were lots of subjective questions in JEE Advanced paper which is expected to continue in the same way next year. In chemistry, most of the subjective questions were from Physical chemistry.

I don't know why your teacher made such a rude decision but don't get depressed, try to find a new teacher and continue studying in the same way. The teacher is only a support, you can get success only if you continue working hard with your full confidence.

The phone is a basic necessity for everyone it totally depends on you whether you need to use it for your benefit by finding out information, videos, tests which can help you in attaining success or you want to waste your time. Honestly, there is no way to keep you away from it other than your self-determination.Without having a real hunger for studies you will never be able to crack IIT-JEE. The only thing you can do is use mobile whenever you are taking rest from studies in between 1-2 hour for 5-10 min. This will also help you in refreshing your mind for the next span of studies.

Hello Souvik, its been a long time, hope your preparations are going well. If you still have any query, you can comment below and as you asked a little while ago if you are getting bored or tired after studying then you can either take a good sleep or do something like listening songs or going on a walk etc. for a short duration. This will help you in recovering the strength for your further studies.

SK whether you are taking a drop this year or you are in 12th class because the routine needs to be made like that. If you are in 12th class then you will have to manage your board exams along with the JEE syllabus but if you have taken a drop this year then it will be much easier for you because there won't be any board exam burden on your head. So, please mention this first then only we will help you in a better way. And please don't get depressed it will never help you in getting success or come up with a perfect solution.

Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!!
