Letter of recommendation is an important document that is asked by all the schools with transcripts, resume, and statement of purpose. It is a document in which the writer writes about your qualities, characteristics, and capabilities in terms of your ability to perform a particular task or function.
As LOR should be positive about you so it should be written by some who know you from extended period of time and knows about the position you are applying for. The referee can be core academic teachers or academic teachers or elective teachers or may be coaches or advisors or community members. But when you are applying for a UG course the best referee is the faculty member who know your abilities and goals.
