Please guide me with the sectionwise no. of correct questions I must attempt to score for two ranges like (80-90) & (90-100) in CAT , XAT...
It also depends on your accuracy rate. By attempting 20 questions with 100% accuracy you can achieve more marks and percentile than attempting 30 questions with 50% accuracy.
So it's very hard to tell any fixed no. of questions that anyone needs to attempt to get a certain percentile. It varies with person to person and that makes the score for different percentile change every year.
Still on a general basis assuming your 80% accuracy I will say in CAT exam you need to attempt atleast 20 questions to get above 80+ percentile in each section and around 26+ questions to get 90+ percentile. But again in some section of It is easy then even with high marks you get low percentile and if difficult you might get high percentile with low marks. It's all relative.
Instead of worrying about no. of questions as very less time is left so you need to brush up on your basics and give up lots of online mock test and analyse solutions of each one of them which will help you in overcoming your mistakes and come up with a strategy to attempt your paper which will definitely help you in improving your marks and percentile.
All the best for your preparations and exams!!
