Please help me in telling the syllabus of JNU entrance (JNUEE) for MA in geography and political science.
Apart from having fair amount of knowledge regarding graduation course of study(Political Science), students are tested in the following areas-
Unit I includes the following topics-
- Social and Political Thought of Modern India
- Western Political Thought
- Concepts and Approaches in Political Theory
Unit II have the following topics-
- Constitution and Political Institutions of India
- State and Politics in India
- Political Processes and Public Policies in India
Unit III have topics such as
- Comparative Government and Politics
- International Relations
Now, coming to entrance syllabus of Geography-
A total of 100 marks is assigned in this entrance exam with the following units and topics it covers-
Unit I contains 60 marks covering the following topics
Geomorphology, climatology, oceanography and biogeography.
Human geography, economic geography, political geography, Population geography, human ecology and human settlements.
Regional geography of India- physiographic divisions, patterns and levels of development of agriculture and industries, growth of population,urbanization, and socio-culture diversity.
Geographical information System, Remote Sensing, Cartography, Quantitative Techniques/Statistics.
- Unit II contains 20 marks from - Questions on Physical, human regional geography and geography of India.
- Unit III contains 10 marks from - Question on Cartography, scale and map projections, topographical maps of India, Methods of data representation
- Unit IV contains10 marks from Question on Statistical Methods – frequency distribution, measures of central tendency and dispersion, Correlation.
