Hello Mr. Raju,
Greetings!
As per the instructions released by Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) for academic year 2018-19,
there is a reservation scheme
applicable to the children of serving soldiers.
Under the
educational concession
, some applicants can apply for reserved defence seats in medical/dental colleges as Government of India nominee
under Ministry of Defence Quota
. The
eligibility criteria
of the scheme states that it is applicable to Defence personnel in the following
order of priority:
- Widows/Wards of Defence personnel killed in action
- Wards of disabled in action and boarded out from service
- Widows/Wards of Defence personnel who died while in service with death attributable to military service
- Wards of disabled in service and boarded out with disability attributable to military service
- Wards of Ex-Servicemen and serving personnel who are in receipt of Gallantry Award
- Wards of Ex-Servicemen

Wives of Serving Personnel
At present
, there are approximately 20 seats in MBBS and 1-3 seats in BDS (subject to allotment by Ministry of Health) as Government of India nominee, which are available through KSB for widows and wards of categories of Defence personnel.
It needs to be emphasised that
as per the reservation policy of NEET
, following the Counselling by DGHS, the
reservation criteria is
:
Category Seats Reserved (Percentage)
Scheduled Caste 15%
Scheduled Tribe 7.5%
OBC (Non-creamy layer) 27%
Physically handicapped 3%
Note:
This reflects that there is
no reservation for the wards of servicemen in the examination
. For the selection of candidates (wards of servicemen), Central
seats,
reserved for Government of India Nominee,
are occupied on the basis of marks obtained by the student in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
Candidates who do not qualify NEET are not eligible to be covered under the KSB scheme.
