Dear aspirant,

Yes, you can become a Pilot after Engineering, but if you really have a passion for flying, you can do your Commercial Pilot License before Engineering.

The minimum eligibility for the SPL(student pilot license) is 16 years of age and matriculation . An oral examination has to be taken in subjects related to aviation. One needs to acquire a private pilot license (PPL) before starting to fly. Flying includes overall 60 hours of flying with cross-country and solo flying. And also you have to pass theoretical examinations in subjects like air regulations, air navigations , aviation meteorology and aircraft engines. so after you complete your engineering you can get admission in some pilot training institutes

There are two ways of becoming pilot. One is to join Indian Air force after passing a pilot aptitude test (PABT)and second way is to become commercial pilot after joining any flying club.

It is always better to become pilot after joining Indian Air Force as the cost of becoming pilot will be bear by the Indian Air Force.

While if you go for Commercial Pilot Licenses than cost is really high for many people to effort like of 40,00, 000/-.

Hey Nachiket,

I would recommend watch Flying Beast he has a YouTube channel. Currently working as a commercial pilot. He has graduated from IIT Kanpur and then did training for becoming a pilot. Overall a cost of total course of becoming a pilot in India can cost around 1 crore but it's cheaper if you do it outside India.

Best of luck
