Hi

This is a bit difficult to make prediction as cut off for colleges  keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the jee main examination , number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then , with 28k i. e 28000 rank you have decent chances in good colleges like NITs, you have good chances in following NITs :-

  • NIT uttarakhand :- civil engineering, for example in 2019, 34169 was closing rank for open state for general category

  • NIT Jamshedpur :- civil engineering

  • NIT sikkim :- Electrical and Electronics Engineering

  • Nit meghalaya :- Electrical and Electronics Engineering

And more

For this you can refer to our page for which link is provided below:-

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination etc so to have a clear picture of the colleges in which you have chances and to get the complete list of colleges in which you have chances, you can go through our jee main college predictor at

Also,

One can can predict rank at

Now that,

You are going to appear for jee mains 2021 , so you should be focusing on your preparation,

  • practising chapterwise questions

  • then revising the chapters,

  • solve at least previous 10 year question papers as concept behind the question often gets repeated in the examination so it will be of great help in your preparation  ,

  • go through mock test papers as it will let you know your preparation level and and weak areas so that you can work on them and perform well in your examination.

Thankyou

Hello Aspirant,

See as you have not mentioned the name of an examination for which you have provided the ranking so considering it for JEE-Main if any other then please mention it.

According to the rank you have mentioned in the question you can get top NITs like NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Uttarakhand, NIT Jaipur as per previous year's cut-offs which you can check from the link given below :-

https://www.google.com/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-top-nits/amp

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your rank, category and state you can use JEE-Main College Predictor because it will make you comfortable while choice filling in counselling :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!
