Please tell me about automotive engineering....! For this it is necessary to do mechanical eng through reputed college like...sinhagad
Dear,
An automotive engineer's career training begins with a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. This is generally the basic requirement for entry-level jobs in the career. Aspiring automotive engineers should pursue a degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field. Automotive engineers also known as mechanical engineers , is projected to grow 5 percent to 2022. This is a little slower than the average for most occupations. The need for design on the next generation of vehicles such as electric cars and vehicle systems will keep the career in demand . The overall job outlook for Automotive Engineer careers has been positive since 2004. Vacancies for this career have increased by 8.01 percent nationwide in that time, with an average growth of 1.34 percent per year. Demand for Automotive Engineers is expected to go up, with an expected 18,700 new jobs filled by 2018.
Hope this helps!
Hello,
Automotive engineering is meant for those who have a passion for cars. Those taking up this course will get to learn about the application of mechanical, thermodynamic, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical principles with an aim to resolve engineering problems. During the period of their study, they will get to know as to how to design and produce visual interpretations of the automobiles and their components. They would also be involved in developing test procedures as well as conducting tests by using physical testing methods and software packages. Another interesting aspect of the course is that students would also get an opportunity to supervise and inspect the installation, modification, and commissioning of mechanical systems at the industrial facilities or plants.
Eligibility Criteria
For UG: Students who have passed 10+2 from science stream, having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to take up the examination.
For PG: Open to students who have passed graduation examination in automotive engineering/Bachelor in Technology in Automotive from recognised university.
Scope of Automotive Engineering
A large number of foreign companies such as Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Nissan, Chevrolet, BMW have set up their manufacturing units in India and are competing with each other. This has proved to be a boon for the automotive engineers. With the thrust being laid on ‘Make in India’-the manufacturing sector is treading on the path of growth. Since, India is the second most populous country in the world, the demand for the automobile is increasing the length and breadth of the country, thereby resulting in the increase in the demand of automotive engineer. According to a report by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturer (SIAM) 2015, India is the fourth largest automotive market. Estimates in the report reveal that the automobile sector is likely to sell more than 6 million vehicles by 2020. In the report, SIAM mentions that during April-March 2015, overall automobile exports rose by 14.89 percent over the same period in 2014. This data is a clear indication that the job market for automotive engineers is expected to grow. Meanwhile, Indian government’s The Automotive Mission Plan’ (AMP) II 2016-26 will also prove to be a boon for the automobile sector and one can expect the creation of a lot of job opportunities. With increasing competition, the sector is looking at professionals who could come up with path-breaking ideas for the production of more technologically advanced machines.

Dear student, Automotive engineering is a combination of mechanical, electrical and materials science. Engineers in this field can design new vehicles or look for ways to improve existing automotive engineering technology. It also includes modification of vehicles. Manufacturing domain deals with the creation and assembling the whole parts of automobiles is also included in it. The automotive engineering field is research -intensive and involves direct application of mathematical models and formulas. The study of automotive engineering is to design, develop, fabricate, and test vehicles or vehicle components from the concept stage to production stage. Production, development, and manufacturing are the three major functions in this field.
