Malnad College of Engineering is a private engineering college which is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka . The college offers degree programmes majorly in the field of engineering. The undergraduate engineering programmes are offered in various disciplines which includes Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Information Sciences Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

MCE BTech Minimum Eligibility 2018
Admissions to the 4 year BTech programmes are accepted on the basis of the guidelines as set by the directorate of admissions, VTU.
- The candidate must have clearly passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University without grace in each compulsory subject i.e.
- Physics and Mathematics and one optional subject as chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject securing minimum 45% (40% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in aggregate in required three subjects.
MCE BTech Admission and Selection Process 2018
The admission are done through Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Department for Technical Education in Karnataka. However, there are a few seats available with the management quota.
Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) to offer admissions to interested candidates in various undergraduate as well as professional courses, offered by different colleges in the state of Karnataka.The KEA authority conducts written examination and on the basis of the candidate’s KCET score a rank list is prepared for admissions at MCE.
The candidates seeking admissions in Engineering / Technology courses conducted by KEA need to appear for entrance exams in Physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects. KCET is usually spread out over two days wherein aptitude of candidates is tested in four subjects. The tests for these subjects are held in four different sessions.
The college also accepts JEE Main scores for admission in the 4 year BE/BTech programmes offered at the college campus. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a national level engineering entrance exam which is conducted to offer admissions in undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) located across the country.
