please tell me how many marks required for mbbs in hilly areas reservation students'in open category?
Hello Shravankumar!
Firstly, I would like to clear 2 things:
- There is no separate reservation for hilly areas. The same reservation criteria as the other regions apply for hilly areas too.
- Open category or the general category do not have any reservation. There is 10% EWS reservation which is based on the economic status of the candidate's family.
Having said this, the qualifying marks in NEET UG 2020 is as follows:
- General category - 720-147
- SC/ST/OBC - 146-113
The vertical reservation matrix in government colleges is as follows
- OBC category - 27%
- SC category - 15%
- ST category - 7.5%
- EWS category - 10%
States offer horizontal reservation also such as for defense, rural candidates etc. It depends on respective states.
Also, note that not all the candidates applying under reserved categories will get a seat. It again depends on their merit within the category. Cutoffs are increased this time due to heavy competition. Below I have provided a few articles that you might find useful.
