- You can attempt at JEE Mainsthree times.Oncewhile appearing for your 12th board or other qualifying exam and two more times after passing 12th or the qualifying exam. But do note that the 2 attempts need to be in consecutive years right after your 12th.
- In WBJEE, there is no limit to the number of attempts and there is no upper limit too. You just have to be 17 years of age on December 31, 2018.

Best of luck
there 3 attempts to givem to each student for jee mains. prior to this below i have listed the main topics subjectwise, have a look and them.
Physics-
· Mechanics -especially rotational mechanics.. a very very important topic and a question from this topic is sure to come. All concepts of Rotational mechanics should be very thoroughly studied till the point you understand each bit of it. Also understanding concepts of Waves is important. Mechanics as a whole is a part worth enjoying in Physics. just enjoy Mechanics and it would be the best and the strongest part of yours
· Modern Physics -Though easy topic but had a lot of weightage in JEE Advance 2016. In Modern Physics-there is no as such specific topic which needs a very special attention..Just understand the concepts of Radioactivity and Photoelectric effect(including X-rays), and mass-energy relationship and its use)
· Optics - especially concepts of wave Optics(Ray optics is mostly asked in JEE in combination with Wave optics)
· Electricity and Magnetism - LC, RC, LR circuits in different combinations and in alternating Current. Electromagnetic induction, Concepts of magnetism(they are scoring especially when you are careful with vectors while solving questions)
· Thermodynamics- Radiation(Blackbody radiation, Stefan’s law, Newton’s law of cool), Isothermal, adiabatic and other thermodynamic processes.
Chemistry-
1. Physical Chemistry-
· Electrochemistry
· Ionic Equilibrium-A very important topic.
2. Inorganic Chemistry-
· Inorganic Qualitative analysis.
· P-Block elements
· Chemical Bonding- A basic but involving concepts from which tricky questions can be made(especially Hybridisation).
· Metallurgy(Methods of extraction of different metals)
3. Organic Chemistry-
· Aldehyde, Ketones, Alcohols, Carboxylic Acids and named reactions and the conditions required for a named reaction to take place.
Mathematics-
· Integration(especially definite integration properties and its applications ), Differential calculus
· Permutations and Combinations(questions mainly asked through concepts and theorems of Probability)
· Complex Numbers
· Vectors(especially 3D because most of the vector questions asked in JEE involve 3D concepts)
· Just memorise trigonometry (properties of triangles) formulas by heart. Many of them when directly applied lead to very fast question solving.
· Also memorise formulas and properties of Ellipse, Hyperbola, Parabola and circle by heart. No need to go beyond standard conics. Questions probably involve just standard cases.
· Differential Calculus has high weightage but most of it is intuitive.
And NOTE:-
A) Important topic that you must have a strong grasp on
B) Scoring topics
C) important topic that you should practice a lot and carry most weightage
