3. Legal Aptitude and Reasoning

Topics Covered: a) Legal Principles: Basic legal knowledge such as fundamental rights, duties, justice, and law.

b) Legal Reasoning: Logical reasoning with legal propositions.

c) Legal Awareness: Understanding of important legal concepts like contract law, criminal law, constitutional law, etc.

d) Case Studies: Short cases followed by questions that require critical thinking and legal reasoning.

Weightage: 25% of the total marks.

4. Logical Reasoning

Total Marks: 20

Topics Covered: a) Analytical Reasoning: Problem-solving ability, understanding patterns, and sequences.

b) Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning: Syllogisms, analogies, series completion, blood relations, puzzles.

c) Critical Reasoning: Identifying conclusions, assumptions, and arguments from a given set of statements.

d) Data Interpretation: Tables, charts, and graphs.

Weightage: 20% of the total marks.

5. Mathematics (Basic Arithmetic)

Total Marks: 10

Topics Covered: a) Percentage: Calculation of percentage and its applications.

b) Profit and Loss: Basic concepts of profit, loss, and discounts.

c) Ratio and Proportion: Basic understanding of ratios and proportionality.

d) Time and Work: Solving problems related to time, work, and efficiency.

6. Elementary Mathematics (Up to Class 10 Level)

The total number of marks is 100.

The Calcutta University BA LLB Entrance Test consists of 100 MCQs (1 mark each) with a 2.5-hour duration.

Subjects and Weightage:
