please tell me the procedure for counselling of Jossa for general pwd candidate of odisha state.
Hi aspirant,
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is the conducting body of counselling for admission into 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 GFTIs.
- Once the JoSAA counselling begins you will have to register yourself on the online portal and you will have to fill your preference order of your college and branch based on your rank.
- After you have filled your choices then there is two mock seat allocation round whereby you can check which branch and college you would get Based on your rank. If required, you can make necessary changes in the preference order.
- Then the actual seat allotment round begins. you will be allocated seat based on your rank. The counselling usually lasts for seven rounds.
- Once you are allocated a seat in any of the Institutions in your preference order then you will jave to pay the required seat acceptance fee and will have to get the receipt.
- After this you will have to visit your nearest reporting center for document verification and there you will be having three options:
- Float: you will select this option if you are satisfied with your allocated seat but you would accept other one if a better Institute and branch within your preference order is allocated in subsequent rounds.
- Slide: You will select this option if you are satisfied with the allocated seat but you would accept other one if a better branch is allocated to within the same Institution in the subsequent rounds.
- Freeze: You will select this option if you are completely satisfied with the allocated seat and don't want to participate in further rounds of Counselling.
- After all ,if you don't want to get the seat at all then you can put a seat withdrawal and can get your seat acceptance fee back.
- Once seat is allocated finally you will report to the concerned Institution for getting admission.
All the best.
