Yes definitely there is reservation available for economically weaker section. 10% reservation quota for the Economically Weaker Sections ( EWS ) among General Category candidates in medical colleges (admissions on the basis of NEET -UG) . EWS(Economic Weaker Section) is for students who belongs to general category and whose family income is less than 8 lakhs and does not belong to SC/ST/OBC.
The eligibility to get the EWS certificate is not only purely based on annual family income but also based on the held property.
People belonging to Economically Weaker Section now get 10% reservation in education and government jobs of India.
