pls explain the difference between bsc genetics & btech genetic engineering and which is best for future
As Bsc is pure science based....Bsc (genetics) involves the study of the pure genetics and not the techniques used int hat...Bsc (genetics) is of theee years ..
B.tech in egnetics is consits of three types.
. Microinjection of DNA into nucleus of anchor cells.
. ELectroporation in which DNA is introduced through cell memebrane pires by pulsed electrical charge
. Polycationic neutration of cells membrane and DNA to be introduced to improve possive uptakes .
So,Btech in genetics is more better than Bsc genetics as in btech you will get the theoritical and practical knowledge...and in Bsc in genetics will give only theoretical knowlede..
Hello there,
The bsc genetic course is a ug course mainly divided into 6 semesters. It is about the study of the variations and heredity in living body. Basically it carries the depth information on genetics transformation from one generation to another generation. It takes a duration of 3 years and the average salary offered is INR 3.5-5 lacs.
Genetic engineering is a 4year course of ug which is divided into 8 semesters which includes theory and practicals too. It is basically the study of delibrate modification of the organism's common and basic characteristics by manipulating it's genetic material. Kind of mixing one genes with another.
Choose wisely. Thank you. All the best. Hope this helped.
Hi, Hope you are doing well!
B.Sc. Genetics or Bachelor of Science in Genetics is an undergraduate Genetics Science course. Genetics covers the study of the science of heredity and variation in living organisms which further then studies heredity and ways in which traits are passed down from one generation to another. In simple words, B.Sc. (Genetics) study deal with basic units of heredity called genes. B.Sc. (Genetics) degree course also includes the study of subjects and topics like Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Microscopy, Model Organisms, Mendelian Genetics & Biometry, Cytogenetics, Molecular Genetics, Genetic Engineering, Cloning and Biotechnology. The degree course is three years duration having six semesters.
B.Tech. Genetic Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Genetic Engineering is an undergraduate Genetic Engineering course. Genetic engineering, also called genetic modification, is the direct human manipulation of an organism's genome using modern DNA technology. It involves the introduction of foreign DNA or synthetic genes into the organism of interest. During the course, the following concepts are taken up; as traditional breeding methods used for the propagation of recombinant organisms. The most common form of genetic engineering involves the insertion of new genetic material at an unspecified location in the host genome. This is accomplished by isolating and copying the genetic material of interest using molecular cloning methods to generate a DNA sequence containing the required genetic elements for expression, and then inserting this construct into the host organism. The course is four years duration and is job orienting one in the very field.
