Hi,

Candidates who pass the exam and become an IAS officer by cracking the UPSC Civil Services Examination get an attractive salary. According to the 7th Pay Commission, the basic salary of an IAS officer is Rs 56,100.

Apart from the salary, an IAS officer is also given several other allowances, including Travel Allowance and Dearness Allowance.

Reports state that the total salary of an IAS officer is more than Rs 1 lakh per month. On the other hand, if an IAS officer reaches the rank of cabinet secretary, then his salary reaches Rs 2,50,000 per month. The officer deputed as cabinet secretary gets the highest salary.

The 7th Pay commission revised the ISRO Scientist salary and allowances. The monthly basic pay INR 15,600 increased with grade pay of INR 6,600. The maximum monthly salary for an ISRO Scientist is INR 80,000 with a consequent increase in the grade pay.

Pay Band plus Grade Pay is the Basic Pay

Employees will receive a Dearness allowance which will be revised twice a year. As per the records of 0215 the DA is 113% every month.

HRA allowance is dependent on the classification of the city they are posted to according to the Government of India Rules. The HRA allowances vary from 10% – 30% of the basic pay.

The transport allowance varies from INR 400 to INR 3,200 depending on the grade of pay and depending on the city of posting.

Dearness allowance on transport allowance is also applicable.

Hope this helps

Wish you luck
