- The Syllabus for these law entrances are different but there are various commom topics which are included in most of them like- General Knowledge and Current Affairs questions, Legal Aptitude, English and Vocabulary, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Some entrances also include mathematics.
General Knowledge - The GK Section includes both Static GK as well as current affairs in most of the entrances. In entrances like CLAR, AILET it covers all main economic, political, social topics from all around the year as well as Static basic GK. Whereas some entrances focus more on Static GK. Hence the level of GK in these are comparitively easier that CLAT.
English - These entrances include questions related to Grammar, Vocabulary and even Reading Section in a few.
Mathematics - Only a few entrance include mathematics as a topic. But it includes only elementary level of Mathematics. Hence it is not that difficult. Even the weightage is not much.
Logical Reasoning - Logical reasoning is in most of the entrances but the level is different in each. Level of CLAT, AILET is a little more advanced than the rest. It may include questions on various topics like Logical Sequences, Number Test, Verbal Reasoning, Family/ Blood Relation, Ranking & Order, Coding Decoding, Syllogisms, Statement Conclusion/ Assumption Pairing, Data Interpretation, Inference based question, Calendar, Directions, Para-jumbles etc.
Legal Aptitude - It may include basic legal questions on Constitution, IPC, Legal maxims etc. Some entrances also have Aptitude questions based on legal situations.
- Make sure that you go through the past year question papers and practice them along with sample papers. This will help you to have an idea about how to attempt the paper, the level of questions for each section, and how to manage your time well. The level of CLAT, AILET, SLAT, LSAT etc is higher than other entrances. So if you are giving multiple entrance exams then go through the syllabus and previous years to have an idea about the same.
- If you are planning to take any coaching in institutes like Career launcher, Bulls eye etc then their reading material covers all aspects. You can refer the books listed above in case you need separate books for any or the sections.
- In case you are looking for an all inclusive guide then the best one is- Universal's guide to CLAT and LLB. Other good guides for the same are- Arihant's guide for CLAT and Pearson's guide to CLAT. This can be used for almost all the entrance exams for Law.
