While filling out choices during neet counselling, you should keep in mind some important factors, which are as follows-

Your priority. In other words, what you call your dream college/colleges should be placed at the top.

The climate. Remember that you will be studying in a government college where you might not get the facilities of air conditioners and geysers. So, avoid taking colleges at such places with extremes of temperature. On the other hand, if you are habituated to such weather, you should avoid humid areas. But here again, your priority should matter.

The food. This is perhaps the most important factor. You will be staying at one place for the upcoming 5.5 years of your life. Make sure you are comfortable with the cuisine available at your chosen place. A satisfied belly is after all the key to stay healthy.

Language. This is obviously a problem if you are going for a college outside your state. The lectures might be in the regional language. Also, you may find difficulty in communicating with the college/hospital staff, patients etc. Remember most of students(85%) will be via state quota only. You might find difficulty in communicating with your classmates too. After all, its always good to be a part of the majority!

Distance from your hometown. Staying far away for 5.5 years from home may not be a good idea for some. Select a place which is well connected to your hometown by road or rail.

Coaching facilities for post graduation. Okay, now this might seem early. But after three years, you are definitely going to prepare for pg entrances. While this is not a problem with colleges situated in metro cities, you may find this facility missing in small towns and cities.

College reputation, year of establishment, patient load of hospital, campus life and hostel, extra co curricular activities etc are some other factors you should take into consideration while deciding college order.

As per me, colleges in Delhi or Mumbai are high on demand. These are followed by colleges in other large cities like pune, bangalore, chennai, patna, kolkata, jaipur, chandigarh, lucknow etc. These are then followed by the best colleges of your home state.

Feel free to ask me in the comment box if you are having any further doubts

hope you find it helpful

Good Luck!
