Hello

For taking admission in B.Tech in Biotechnology you have to appear in JEE exam. Yes ,maths is compulsory subject for B.tech biotechnology, but if you are Biology student you can go with Bsc (Hons.) Biotechnology which does not require maths as a compulsory subject. No with your NEET score you can not take admission in Biotechnology. All the Best.

Hello

B. Tech in biotechnology is going to be the most demanding career options in few years.

To take admission in B. Tech. In biotechnology, you have to quality JEE exam which is Joint entrance exam for all the engineering branches.

For indraprastha university, there is another CET exam only for B. Tech. In biotechnology for admission in respective university.

Yes, mathematics is compulsory for B. Tech in biotechnology.

But if you don't have mathematics as a subject in 10+2, and still want to pursue Biotechnology as a career. You can go for B. Sc. In biotechnology( biology or biotechnology is compulsory subject).

Thank you

All the best.

Hi Aspirant,
Based on JEE Mains exam admission in B.Tech Biotechnology is done. As per your question yes you can do the course without Maths. DUET,KIITEE, JMI ENTRANCE , KCET etc are top entrance exam for this. Other central universities as well as private university also offer this course.
I hope your doubt is clear.
Thank you

Hello,

Yes maths is compulsory for B.Tech in Bio technology. A student should have completed their 10+2 with physics, chemistry, maths, and biology. Bachelors of Technology in Biotechnology which is commonly known as B.tech in Biotechnology is one of the best specializations in engineering courses. Most of the institutes and universities are providing admission on the basis of their performance in entrance exams conducted by them. There are some institutes avail direct admission on the basis of 10+2 marks. So you can either give entrance exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, VITEEE, SRMJEEE so on or you can get on the basis of your 10+2 level in some of the colleges.

In other Institutions or Universities, that admit students from Biology background as well on Board Exam merit, there certain basic mathematics course are usually practised. This usually includes Mathematics upto class 12th.

Lateral entry admission process for b.Tech in biotechnology

Candidates can join the B.Tech in biotechnology course after completing a polytechnic diploma of engineering in biotechnology. Through two examinations, lateral entry entrance exam and other is a general engineering entrance exam.

After completing biotechnology, students will get admission directly into the second year of engineering. The lateral entry examination is a state-level examination. According to the rank, students will be able to choose the institute from their state at the time of counseling. In most of the engineering colleges, there is a reserved seat for lateral entry.
