products A and B were sold at a profit of 25% and 15%respectively and the total selling price is rs1690. If they were sold at 20% and 30% profit respectively, the total selling price would have been rs1740. find the difference in the cost prices of the two products (in rs).
Answer (1)
x and y be the actual price of A and B.
Now if the profit after selling A and B is 25% and 15%
Then selling price is 1.25x and 1.15y
And 1.25x+1.15y= 1690
Also if the profit is 20% and 30%
Then selling price is 1.2x and 1.3y
Hence 1.2x+1.3y=1740
x-y=1690-24*1740/25=19.6
Now if the profit after selling A and B is 25% and 15%
Then selling price is 1.25x and 1.15y
And 1.25x+1.15y= 1690
Also if the profit is 20% and 30%
Then selling price is 1.2x and 1.3y
Hence 1.2x+1.3y=1740
x-y=1690-24*1740/25=19.6
