Hello aspirant,

Protein is the necessary yet basic component found in living beings and is made up of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen and one/more chains of amino acids. Three types of proteins are-

  • Fibrous proteins that are formed and found in muscle fibers, tendons and connective tissues. Ex- Actin, Collagen, Nebulin, Myosin, Elastin etc.
  • Globular Proteins that are water soluble in nature an helps in transporting nd regulating the bodily functions. Ex- Albumins, Fibrin, Thrombin, Myoglobin, Hemoglobin etc.
  • Membrane Proteins that relay signals and allow interaction within cells and also in transporting molecules. Ex- Histones, Rhodopsin, Hydrolases etc.

Foods present in proteins are- Tuna Fish, Soya beans, Cheese, Almonds, Eggs, Spinach, Yoghurt etc.

  • Quinoa
  • Lentils
  • Pumkin Seeds
  • Fish'
  • Shrimp
  • Peanuts

LEntils are a very good option for VEgans
