Lenz law states that the direction of the current induced by the changing magnetic field is such that the new magnetic field created by the induced current is such that it opposes the initial magnetic field. Lens law can be proved on the basis of conservation of energy. Thus assume that the magnetic field created by the induced current is in the same direction with the initial field, thus it would create a new larger field which would again creat another field in the same direction and in this way this will continue and it will create a positive feedback endless loop which will completely disobey the rule of conservation of energy. Thus, the new magnetic field always opposes the initial field.
