Hello,

Pyrenoids are the sub-celluar micro-compartments which are found in the chloroplast of most algaes. The main function of Pyrenids is to act as the centres of Carbon dioxide (CO2). These are associated with storage of starch as layers and hence mainly made up of Proteinaceaous centre and starchy sheath.

Hope this helps.
