GATE 2025: Syllabus | Sample Papers
Candidates should have completed their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or Master’s degree (M.Sc) in any relevant science subject or must be in the final year of the programme. Students appearing in final year exam or passed MCA, BS/ B.Sc (with Research), Integrated ME/ M. Tech, Integrated M. SC/ MS can also appear for GATE. Every student should have the necessary document or certificate from the Principal of the college.

The basic academic qualification that is required for appearing in gate examination is-:
Candidate must have completed his/her bachelor's degree or master's degree in science field or he/she could be in the final year
There is no pass percentage in the qualifying degree
There is also no age limit
Further more the candidate must be a citizen of India and if he/she belongs to Nepal,UAE,Bangladesh or sri lanka he/she is allowed to sit in the examination

GATE Eligibility Criteria 2019 mandates a candidate to hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university/ institute in order to apply for the exam. Registration window for this session closed on October 1, 2019.
There is no minimum or maximum age limit prescribed to appear for the examination.
There is no limit on number of attempts to appear or apply for GATE exam. However, the eligibility for M.Tech admission through GATE score may vary as per the participating institute.
