qualifying jee advance is must for general candidate to be eligible for this exam
Candidates who wish to apply for IIST B.Tech admission have to obtain the minimum prescribed category-wise marks in JEE advanced 2018 as given below.
-
Candidates belonging to General category have to secure at least 20% aggregate marks and at least 5% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually
-
Other Backward Community – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) candidates have to secure at least 18% aggregate marks and at least 4.5% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually
-
Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates have to secure 10% aggregate and 2.5% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics individually
Now for the general category students with 20% aggregate marks, you may or may not clear the JEE Advanced cut-off, it is not necessary. But again for IIST also you cannot get admission only by becoming eligible for admission, you will need to aim for higher marks atleast more than 55% marks in JEE Advanced exam so as to get admission in IIST.
Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!!
