Quantum numbers are a part of quantum physics which helps to understand the microscopic elements of an atom which were not figured out using classical physics.

The quantum numbers are are of four types basically known as n,m,l,s. N refers to the principal quantum number for it is the cell number in which the electron is currently rotating. L refers to to the azimuthal quantum number which shows the angular momentum of that rotating particle.

M refers to to the magnetic quantum number, whereas S refers to the spin quantum number which is denoted as either plus half or minus half.
