When you have to compare two colleges and have to arrive at a conclusion then you have to choose some of the parameters. This parameters can be a distinct number of events but to conclude this answer I am choosing some of the most important parameters like:

• Infrastructure
• Curriculum
• Faculties
• Placement

Now both the colleges you have mentioned are affiliated by Anna University, Chennai . Thus the course work will be the same for both the colleges. Thus we can't differentiate in terms of the curriculum parameter. Now REC, Chennai has better infrastructure in terms of lab and library. Also the teachers in REC are relatively more experienced than that of St. JOSEPH. Also the placements are slightly better in REC,Chennai  with median package Rs. 4.5LPA.

So if you want to choose between this two then I would recommend you to go for Rajalaxmi Engineering College, Chennai.
