Hi!
Music has always resided in India as it's sosoul and today there are best music schools in India where one can pursue a career in music. Some of them are that are in South India:
- KMMC (K.M. Music Conservatory) , Chennai established by renowned music artist A.R. Rehman.
- Madaras Music Academy, Chennai
- Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, Tamil Nadu
But unfortunately these does not provide residential facilities to students as per my knowledge. I hope this will be helpful.
