Hello,
There are basically two types of colleges ,one is universities that offers degrees in various fields such as arts, commerce etc along with engineering, in such colleges the engineering degree is called Bachelor Of Engineering (B.E) and the other are institutes/colleges which offer only engineering degrees and in those colleges the engineering degree is called Bachelor Of Technology(B.Tech). B.E and B.Tech are undergraduate courses that a student can pursue after completion of their 10+2 exams with the required subjects and requisite marks. There are several national level exams such as JEE Main and state level exams such as UPSEE, WBJEE and other institute specific exams such as BITSAT, VITEE through which the candidates can admission to various B.Tech, B.E courses. Both programes follow the same semester pattern with two semesters per year and a total of eight semesters in a complete four-year programes. If compared both degrees have almost similar job scope and future. In short, both the courses are almost similar to each other but have some differences . Hope this answers your queries.
BE is Bachelor of Engineering and B.Tech is Bachelor of Technology. The most important difference is that BE is theoretic whereas B.Tech is more practical. Engineering deals with theory that we put into daily practise with an engineering perspective. Technology is how we just put these theories into practise. During BE the syllabus focuses on helping you understand the theoretical knowledge required to invent technical gadgets or innovate technology. In B.Tech the focus is on making you understand the technology behind various aspects and improve their quality of working. BE is more knowledge oriented and B.Tech is more of skill oriented. So if you are more interested in gaining knowledge and put it in a research more,BE is helpful. But if you want to put it to Practical use, then go for B.Tech.
