Hi Pradip,

The physical requirements related to eyesight for the eligibility of becoming an IPS officer are as follows:

  • 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for the better eye.
  • 6/12 or 6/9 for the other eye. The near vision should be J1 for the better eye and J2 for the other eye.
  • High standard will be maintained for the colorblind test procedure and there should be no hereditary or inherent night blindness.
  • The vision should be stereoscopic.

DO MAKE A NOTE THAT IF YOU SATISFY THE ABOVE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA THEN YOU WILL BE SELECTED FOR IPS AND IF NOT THEN YOU WOULD BE ALLOTTED THE NEXT POST OF CIVIL SERVICES ACCORDING TO YOUR RANK.

BEST WISHES!
