So, right now your are in third year of your B.tech course and now its time for you to decide that what you want to do next. Like if you want to prepare for GATE then start the preparation.But as per your query, i am assuming that you are focused for getting placement.In that case a good internship is very important to enhance your resume.
For civil engineering, there are many private firms that offer internship, L&T, HCC, Shapoorji Pallonje, Afcons Goel Ganga , TATA etc . One more option is to contact any local Consultants Builders or any Construction Company as they can also help.
You can go to website of the companies and there you see option of "Careers", simply click on it and if you get the internship option then submit your resume.You will get a mail if they will offer internship.
