Dear Aspirant,

Ravenshaw University placed in the region of Cuttack, Odisha , is an autonomous university  established in the year 2006. Initial under the governance of Calcutta University, it is now being administered by Patna University. It is equipped with numerous facilities like:

1) Kanika Library-  This central library consists of more than hundred computers and 80,000 e-books that are easy to access. The library meets the academic, literary and general knowledge needs of the students.

2)IAS student circle:  There is an IAS coaching class that is attached to the University for those students who are willing to give the UPSC competitive examinations. The coaching timings are from 6pm to 9pm.

3)Dispensary- The college has a well furnished dispensary catering to the medical needs of the students.

4)Scholarships:  Here are three of the many scholarships the university offers.

a) National Scholarships: Students whose parent's annual income is less than Rs. 6,000/- annually will only be eligible for the national scholarship that awards:

Post-Graduate Boarders @Rs. 300/- P.M

Post Graduate Day Scholars @ Rs120/- P.M.

Under Graduate Boarders @ Rs. 120/- P.M..

Under Graduate Day Scholars @ Rs.90/- P.M.

b) PG Merit Scholarship: This awards Rs 60 per month to those students who have obtained merit in their annual examination

c)Senior Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship: The students whose parents annual income is less than 4000. The students must have scored more than 50% in their 10+2 examinations.

For the UG admissions, the basic eligibility for UG courses such as: BA, BBA, B.Sc., B.Com., is qualifying the class 12 examinations with a minimum of  50% aggregate marks . The marks of the extra options if any should not be counted. There is a relaxation given for the cut off for SC/ST candidates that is decided by  the authorities. The college offers more than 25 undergraduate courses. The schools include Science, Humanities & Social Sciences, Business & Management Studies, Accounting,  Commerce ,Teaching & Education, Hospitality and Travel, Software.
