Robotics course is not much popular in India. But still, few universities provide specialization in robotics. Mostly courses included PG programme in Robotics.

>University College of Engineering under Osmania University, Hyderabad, offers M.E. / M.Tech. In Automation and Robotics.



>M.S. University, Baroda, conducts a masters programme with specialization in automation control and robotics.



>The Institute of Technology under the Banaras Hindu University conducts M.Tech. Production Engineering/ Industrial Management Engineering with Robotics and Automation as electives.



>Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala- 147004, conducts M.E. in CAD/ CAM and Robotics.



>The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, offers M.E. in Computer Science with robotics as a subject.



>Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning Prasanthi Nilayam offers. Tech. Computer Science with specialization in artificial intelligence. ( Artificial intelligence is defined as the ability of an artificial mechanism to exhibit intelligent behavior. It is closely associated with robotics)

Growth of the sector



From workplace chores to defusing a bomb, robots are useful in technical as well as hazardous work, in both public and private sectors. The robotics industry gathered pace after the advancement in Information Technology and computer industry because designing, manufacturing, assembling and testing became quite easier day-by-day. Raj Singh Rathee says, We see a very positive growth in this sector in future in India because of the fact that the use of automation and robotics is still mainly at big companies and limited industry sectors. Once the larger sections of the industry know the awareness and benefits we believe that penetration would be much better.
