Correct Answer: Rs. 1200
Solution : Let the share of P, Q, and R during the 1st division be $5x,7x$, and $8x$ respectively. The sum = Rs. 6000 Now, $5x+7x+8x=6000$ ⇒ $x=300$ Share of R = $8x=8\times300=2400$ Again, Let the share of P, Q, and R during the 2nd division be $9x,7x$, and $4x$ respectively. The sum = Rs. 6000 Now, $9x+7x+4x=6000$ ⇒ $x=300$ Share of R = $4x=4\times300=1200$ Loss = 2400 – 1200 = 1200 Hence, the correct answer is Rs. 1200.
