Hello Aspirant,
Hope you are doing well.
In India, Sainik Schools are residential schools for males that provide public school education with a military orientation. The schools are connected with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in New Delhi and get financing from both the federal and state governments respectively. Since 1961, the plan to construct Sainik Schools has been in place, with the main goal of preparing boys intellectually, physically, and psychologically for admission to the National Defence Academy. There are about 33 Sainik schools across the nation. To find out how to get in touch with the schools, go to this page. A member of the All India Public Schools Conference is the Sainik School System. They have a similar curriculum and are connected with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. At the same time that they are building the boys' healthy personalities in order to make them suitable for the NDA, the schools are simultaneously preparing them for the CBSE class X and XII examinations as well as the UPSC test for the NDA. The language of teaching is English, despite the fact that English proficiency is not a requirement for admission. Because these schools educate boys for the National Defense Academy (NDA) in the +2 level, only the Science stream is available. Aside from academic achievement, students are encouraged to develop their creative capabilities via participation in co-curricular activities and community service projects. They are exposed to all major sports in a methodical manner, and they are required to participate in NCC training up to and including class XI. Adventure activities are an important element of the training experience. Each school has a substantial amount of infrastructure and area to accommodate the requirements of comprehensive training, allowing boys to grow up in a safe and supportive environment. Structure of the fees The annual tuition cost for a student is about Rs 1,27,500 for one academic year. Scholarships Cadets enrolled at Sainik Schools are eligible for scholarships from the state government, which are determined by the family's income. Scholarship share is also provided by the central government, at different rates, to individuals who get scholarships from the state governments. Scholarships are awarded by the Ministry of Defence to children of current and retired military members, as well as to ex-servicemen who are accepted under the defence quota. Under a new programme, the Ministry of Defense would provide a subsidy of about Rs.14,000/- per year to all boys enrolled in Sainik Schools. Boys are studying at certain institutions where scholarship amounts are generous, and they are only need to pay a very little amount of money. Cases have been filed with state governments to raise the amount of scholarship money available and the income slabs available in areas where they are less generous. The admissions procedure In order to be admitted, students must first pass an entrance test consisting of maths, general knowledge (Sc & Sst), language and intelligence for Class VI; maths, intelligence, english, general science, social studies, and science for Class IX; and then an interview and a medical examination are conducted. Male students are accepted to Sainik Schools in classes VI and IX on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Test as well as an interview, and male students are admitted to Class XI based on their performance in the Class X Board examination. Girls are now eligible for admission to Class VI in all 33 Sainik Schools, which is a significant increase.
