Initially, the freshers work as technologists or technicians in the laboratory. If you just graduated, some options may be:

1)Lab analyst- They perform tasks such as conducting tests and analysing the results, maintaining work spaces and preparing experiments.

2)Lab assistant- They are responsible for helping technologists and scientists during lab tests and research

3)Lab technician- They play an important role in collecting information, sampling, testing and reporting.

4)Lab technologist- They performs complex tests that help other healthcare professionals such as physicians detect, diagnose, and treat diseases .

5)Lab supervisor- They Oversee the operations of a laboratory

6)Lab manager- They bring together their managerial skills and knowledge of safety and lab procedures to ensure that laboratories operate smoothly.

7)Tutor/Instructor- They instruct the new interns at the laboratory and share their knowledge in the proceedings of the lab.

The recruitment of MLT professionals are also done by many independent pathological and commercial labs. The MLT professionals also usually find themselves working in clinics, nursing homes, government hospitals and private hospitals. The starting salary usually depends on the person's skill, knowledge, experiences, qualifications and job locations. The Medical Lab Technicians usually earn around 8-10K when they first begin, only to grow in the field and advance in their position. If you choose to work under a Government job, it will depend on the your grade and the set pay band decided for that grade.
