The salary of the IAS officer is entirely dependent on how much promotions he/she get during the tenure of his/her service. So telling the final salary is unpredictable. Now in the beginning , after joining the service an IAS is Rs.56,100 (DA+TA+HRA are extra & depends on the category of the place where posted).
Now when the IAS officer becomes Additional Magistrate after 5 - 8 years of service then the salary becomes Rs.67,700 (DA+TA+HRA are extra & depends on the category of the place where posted).
Now when the IAS officer becomes District Magistrate after 9-12 years of service then the salary becomes Rs.78,800 (DA+TA+HRA are extra & depends on the category of the place where posted).
*On further promotions may occur depending on the promotions and the tenure of the service. If the officer have a service period of 37+ years then he/she can get a salary of Rs. 2,50,000 being the Central Cabinet Secretary of India. This is the highest post that can be achieved as an IAS.
** All the figures I have provided are monthly salaries and have been collected as per internet research.
