Salary package and placements for cse students

The salary package for CSE students, and for that matter any branch's students depends upon the college from which they have done their engineering. If someone has done his/her engineering from a bad college then s/he might not get placed at all. However, if you have done it from top IIITs/NITs/IITs, then you could hope for anywhere between 12-40 lakhs per annum or even more depending upon the students(exceptionally well students).
Therefore, placements are very relative field and you have to be in a good college to get good placements. There are other institutes also, other than IITs/
NITs with good placements like BITS, VIT, etc.
