Manufacturing Engineering is one of the streams of engineering which deals with various manufacturing processes. It also focuses on research and development process, machines, tools and equipments. It trains individuals on how to handle various machines which turn raw material into a finished product. This specialised stream develops and creates physical artifacts, production processes, and technology. It's a vast field as it includes the design and development of products. The Manufacturing Engineering is a collaboration of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, materials management, and operations management. This stream was introduced in the mid to late 20th century, it was the time when industrialisation was at its peak. As the industrialisation was gathering speed, requirement was needed for specialised people who can take over the manufacturing department of the industries. With this view in mind, Manufacturing Engineering stream was introduced and within a short span of time, it became very popular among the students.
