Every branch in engineering have its own importance. Engineering is a field, which allow particular to be specific about their interest. It is highly recommended, instead of following the population, build your own interest and work on it.

Agriculture Engineering:

It is also known as bio systems engineering. It is field of study for designs principles for agriculture industry. It offers Under graduate (4 years), Post Graduate (2 years) and Phd (5 years max) programs.

The eligibility criteria is to score minimum of 50% aggregate in class 12th for Bachelor's program, 55% in B.Tech for post graduation and 60% for Phd. If you are applying for B.Tech program, you must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject combination in class 12th.

There are 78 government colleges and 155 private colleges offers the course. The fees varies between 15000 INR to 5 Lakh INR depending on the college.

These are certain colleges offering agriculture engineering:

  • Integral University, Lucknow
  • Vellore Institute of technology
  • Sharda University, Noida
  • IIT Madras
  • IISc Banglore
  • IIT Kharagpur

The salary that is offered after doing the graduation varies between 15000 INR to 60000 INR per month depending on the program level. There is not any upper bound to the salary.

The scope of agriculture engineering is really good. As we know, agriculture field will never stop from growing as everybody needs food, so it is a great choice if you are interested in the fields.

Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology branch:

If you are into computers world, enjoy doing programming and a bit of mathematics, then it is the field for you. Certain colleges do offer the same degree with IT branch tag, but subjects and scope is same.

It has wide scope with unlimited growth of technology. You will study C/C++,Java, Data structures and algorithms and much more and explore new things. But note that it is an endless learning experience.

To be eligible for CSE/IT one needs to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject combination during class 12th. There are many popular national and state level entrance exams like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, WBJEE etc.

It also offers UG, PG and Phd programs. The fees varies between 50000 INR to 25 Lakh INR depending on the college.

The average salary one can expect is 40000 INR per month. The job roles that you will be offered are Computer Systems Engineer, Web developer , software engineer etc.
