An Instrumentation engineer has opportunities in many central government organisations like DRDO, ISRO,IOC, BARC, NTPC, Railways, BSNL, HAL, AAI, etc. Also many core companies like Honeywell, Texas Instruments, National Instruments, ABB, Larsen & Tourbo, Robert Bosch, Invensys, GE, Suzlon, Apna Technologies, Whirlybird, ESSAR, Yokogawa, Orange, LG, SAMSUNG, SONY, SANSUI, Whirlpool, Intel, Vedanta, Oil & Coal, Cadence, Cairn India, Linde, Allan Bradley, many software companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, CTS, HCL etc recruit these engineers.
There are very few to lot of options depending on your interest. Electronics and Instrumentation is certainly a broad subject to study and you can choose your career in different areas. If you are very good in controls and have interest in it, you can try as a control engineer in different industries like Refineries, Nuclear Reactors, Process Industries etc .

There is a lot of scope in both public sector as well as the private sector for an E & I engineer. You can apply for public sector jobs like Railways, DRDO, IES, ONGC, BSNL, BHEL etc
Software giants like IBM, Accenture, TCS, Wipro, Tech mahindra also offer a lot of opportunities.
For core field you can go for: Philips, L&T, Samsung etc
