scope of electrical engineering
Hi there!
What is the scope of EE in India after 2022?
How does one get obviate hidden mosquitoes from your home?
When I was in my 3rd year of B. Tech., our teacher prof. S Ghosh once told us “All kinds of core industries require EE to some extent !!” Our beliefs got interleaved between his thoughts once we actually faced the scenario.
I believe there are two possible aspects of your question: Placement and Research. i feel I’m able enough to elucidate your perspectives.
Placements:
The industry one can get right after b.tech. are often one among the following: Core, PSU, Software&IT, Business Management, Mass etc.
Core industries require ample amount of electrical expertise. Various sorts of private companies are there in India. within the design & manufacturing sector, we got ABB, GE, Siemens, Schneider Elctric, Cummins, Kirloskar, Hitachi etc. These companies even have wide selection of outlets across the world . Job profiles are quite lucrative in these companies.
In the power generation sector, we've Tata Power, Reliance Power etc.
Vehicle companies like Tata motors, Mahindra&Mahindra, GM, Suzuki even have been seen recruiting EE engineers.
Few other companies like Linde (industrial gas manufacturer), Tata Metaliks, Tata Steel, L&T, Vedanta ltd (Metal producer), Jindal stainless and a couple of construction companies require good amount of Electrical engineers.
In the semiconductor industry even, EE people are able to do employment due to good knowledge on analog and digital electronics. Companies are Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Samsung, Sankalp Semiconductor, DxCorr etc.
In the refining industry also, EE is effective .
And, most significantly , these industries have wide opportunities of growth ahead in future (like even after 2052 !)
PSUs requiring EE people are NTPC (best place for EE people), BHEL, PGCIL, IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, SAIL, Coal India, NHPC, GAIL etc. during this list, there are genres covering power generation, power transmission and diatribution, manufacturing, oil, gas, hydro-power and even mining ! EE people have wide windows hospitable enter into PSUs for atleast next 30 years.
Now comes the software industry. within the placement season, I came to understand something called ‘Circuital Branches’. Well, CSE IT EE ECE are the sole four branches to fall during this category. And so, an honest number of software companies allow EE people to take a seat for placements. From my college, even they chose people in software cadre (eg. JPMC, Cognizant).
In business management and analyst section, there are companies like PwC, Delloitte, KPMG, ZS Associates, MuSigma etc. These companies aren't generally biased to any branch but sometimes circuital branches get preferences.
In mass category, there are many famous recruiters like TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc. These are mostly hospitable all branches. This year IBM came to our campus for mass recruitment but only allowed circuital branches.
Renewable energy, micro-grid are the areas getting to be hotcake within the near future.
So, as you see, market growth is tolerably to support job for EE people. And also, Core companies don’t visit all the universities for placements. Also, in core industry, a EE fresher graduate has less chances to grab an off-campus job without recommendation/prior experience. So be wise before selecting your college. Mass placement even is that the lifeline for several b.tech. graduates nowadays.
Apart from these, EE graduates are susceptible to become IES officers through ESE exam !! IRS, CPES and a few other jobs fall under this category.
And even, EE people choose research oriented prestigious jobs in ISRO, BARC, DRDO, NTRO etc !!
Research:
EE is one among those braches having fantastic research scopes. Major research areas are Renewable Energy, Smart Grid, Soft Computation, FACTS, Power Electronics & Drives, High Voltage, Power Systems, Instrumentation, Embedded systems etc. These areas have great depths to probe within the future within the top colleges in India.
So, as you see, EE may be a promising stream for the longer term . And does one know what the foremost amazing thing about EE is ?? you'll switch to other disciplines for job or study. Like I’ve heard that an EE b.tech. graduate applying for MS in computing in USA !! Well, you recognize well that the reverse isn't possible.
So, if Coulomb and Faraday has entertained you in your +2, you'll ofcourse choose EE. If you're keen on the topic a touch , it'll desire an ocean. you'll get uninterested in counting the droplets of water. Scopes and opportunities will come along side .
Yes there are enough scope of Electrical engineering if you are talented enough.
Firstly it depends on your College,if doing it from Nits/IITs then you can have enough opportunities to build career.
But it's not mean that you will not find any scope if you are doing it from average college.
If you have interest in this branch you can make a good future in it. There are many companies you can join like invertors making companies also you can do your own business etc.
Good Luck!!
