Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well...

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) is a group of prestigious management institutions of India. According to the NIRF 2020 report, the top 5 IIMs are:

  • IIM, Ahmedabad
  • IIM, Bangalore
  • IIM, Calcutta
  • IIM, Lucknow
  • IIM, Kozhikode

These IIMs select candidates based on their performance in the nationally administered Common Admission Test (CAT), performance in the subsequent rounds of Personal Interviews, and past academic performance. Some of the IIMs also give considerable weightage to work experience.

Qualifying cut-off is the minimum percentile score a candidate must score so that he/she is eligible for an interview call (for WAT/GD-PI round) from the IIMs. It is fixed before the announcement of CAT results. The final cut-off is the minimum percentile score fixed by the IIMs for the selection of candidates for the WAT/GD-PI round. Meeting these cut-offs do not guarantee admission into the IIMs.

Given below are the top 5 IIMs along with their final cut-off percentile for the 'General' category:

IIM Ahmedabad:

Final Cut-off Percentile: 99 to 100

IIM Bangalore:

Final Cut-off percentile: 99 to 100

IIM Calcutta:

Final Cut-off percentile: 99

IIM Lucknow:

Final Cut-off percentile: 97 to 98

IIM Kozhikode:

Final Cut-off percentile: 97-98

Your academic qualifications are pretty decent. But you shouldn't forget that there may be candidates with better academic qualifications competing with you. Therefore, it is advisable for you to up your game. You could do that by taking up some certification courses, live projects, internships, etc. All this, along with an exceptionally good CAT score and a good GD-PI performance, can collectively help you land a seat in one of the top IIMs.

Hope this was helpful.

Should there be any other query, please feel free to ask.

Good Luck!
