Correct Answer: He told Manoj that he had celebrated his birthday two days before.

Solution : The fourth option is the correct choice.

The given sentence is in the direct speech . As per the question, we have to change it to the indirect speech .

The process of transformation is as follows:

  • The reporting verb "said to" is changed into "told".
  • The first-person pronouns "I" and "my" are changed to the third-person pronouns "he" and "his", respectively.
  • The simple past tense "celebrated" is changed to the past perfect tense "had celebrated" in the indirect speech.
  • The conjunction "that " is added between the reporting clause and the reported clause.
  • "Ago " is changed to "before " .

Therefore, the correct answer is, " He told Manoj that he had celebrated his birthday two days before ".
