Self study is sufficient bt in case of self study after a point you will loose your interest and willingness so I would suggest you to join an institute that will help you in building your concept and also will show right path how to prepare and how to manage your time table also competitive atmosphere of institute helps you in building your confidence

You can join anytime many batches would be starting now or if not they will provide you extra time for leftover syllabus

Are you sure that you want to drop a year . Look it is matter of career so whatever decision you take jst think twice over it . So that you don't regret on it . According to me you should join it atleast in class 12 so that you have an rough idea about your preparation .and try to crack neet in first go

So self study is the best way to crack neet and also you are in the era to digitalisation therefore you can also take help from internet , you can search any topic which you want to understand
YouTube is nowadays a very good source for the neet preparation .
So in my opinion you just have to concentrate on your self studyi hope you get it
