Chausa is the name of a battle fought between the Mughal Emperor Humayun and the ruler of Afghanistan. The battle occurred on 26 June 1539. Sher Shah Suri is buried at the tomb of Suri at Sasaram in the present state of Bihar in India. The battle of chausa took place on plains of chausa, approximately 10 miles southwest from the town of buxar. Humayun lost this battle.
